Why should we consider you to be our wedding photographer?
If you're looking for an experienced professional wedding photographer who takes beautiful, creative and fun photographs in a relaxed unobtrusive way then I could be the right photographer for you.

Your wedding will be one of the most incredible, memorable days of your life, and being invited to be a part of that is both an honour and a privilege, and I will use all of my experience and creativity to make sure I capture everything exactly the way you want it.

"David did a superb job as our photographer. He is very discreet and highly skilled at getting natural, candid photos of your guests. If you want beautifully composed shots of people having a great time without lots of forced, contrived poses then David is your man. We could not be happier with our photos - they came out exactly as we'd hoped." - Chris Lines

I'm very proud of the reputation that I've built up over the last 20 years for providing stunning, creative and natural wedding photography that my clients love and cherish, but don't just take my word for it, please take a moment to read more reviews from some of my previous clients on my Google page.
What's your wedding photography style?
My style is a mix of natural, portrait and traditional with an emphasis on natural, often called documentary or reportage wedding photography. I find this provides a perfect blend of real unique moments combined with awesome photos of the two of you. My approach on the day is to put you and your guests at ease, because if you're all relaxed the more natural your photos will be.
Do you take formal group photographs?
Absolutely! Group photos are obviously an extremely important part of your day, as how often do all of your family and friends get together in one place to celebrate something so special. Whether you like the more traditional style, or would like to inject a bit of fun and laughter into them, I will capture it all exactly the way you want.

You can have as many or as little group photos as you wish and during the venue survey we will discuss your ideas and I'll guide you on how long they are likely to take. That way you can plan for and incorporate them into your schedule so we ensure there's enough time to capture everything you want. Trust me, the venue will love you all the more for it too.
What about creative portrait photographs?
I recon that if you were to ask most wedding photographers what their favourite part of the day was, nearly all of them would say the period where the couple have their portrait photos taken, and I'm no different. I love this time as it gives me the opportunity to get creative and capture those unique portraits of you both looking a million dollars. I also think this is a really important part of the day for you too, as it gives you both a bit of time to spend alone and reflect on the events of the day so far, as it can often feel like the day is going at a million miles an hour!

I think it's fair to say that most couples are nervous of having their photograph taken, which is quite understandable, however I guarantee you will soon realise there is nothing to worry about and this time will soon become one of the most cherished parts of your day.

I will be led entirely by you both as to the amount of time you would like to spend on your portraits, but I generally ask my couples to allow for about 20 minutes. As with the group photos, we would discuss this in more detail during the venue survey, which gives us the opportunity to scout for the best locations and agree timings. That way, we are well prepared and on the day it ensures you can get back to spending as much time with your friends and family as possible.
What packages do you offer?
I have three simple wedding packages offering coverage anywhere from getting ready to the first dance, which you can tailor to meet your own needs. Please take a look at my packages page for full details.

If you're unsure how many hours you need or just want a bit of guidance please get in touch.
Do you provide wedding albums?
Yes, I work with the UK's premier wedding album supplier, Loxley Colour, who provide a stunning range of beautifully hand-made wedding albums. To find out more about the wedding albums that I offer please do get in touch.
How long before we receive our wedding album?
It usually takes about 6 weeks to design and build the album once you've chosen the photos to be included.

At every stage of the design process I'll check-in with you and share digital versions of the build for your approval. Only when you are completely happy with the entire design will it go to print.
Do you use a second photographer?
I tend to shoot alone as I find this is more respectful and discrete, enabling me to capture the day unnoticed. From my experience, having more than one photographer throughout the whole day increases everyone's awareness of them and the guests can get photo fatigue.

Typically a second photographer is only required should you wish to extend coverage to include both of you getting ready in the morning. If you'd like a second photographer I will ask a number of local and trusted professional photographers that I have worked with before if they are available. The cost would usually be based on their own hourly rate.
How many photographs will we get?
I don't set a limit for the number of photos I'll take during your wedding as it depends on various things like the number of guests, how long I'm there and what's going on during the day, but as an estimate, for a full day you can expect to receive somewhere between 450-600 images.

Will you post-process our photographs?
Yes, I will post-process all of your photos using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, to ensure they look the best they possibly can be.

When will we receive our photos?
Quite simply I promise to have your photos ready within 6 weeks of your wedding.

How will we receive our photos?
I will upload your photos to your own secure online gallery. From this private gallery you can order prints, share your photos with friends and family or post them to social media.

You will also receive all of your photographs on a personalised USB stick.
What equipment do you use?
I currently use Canon's ground-breaking R5 and R6 mirrorless camera's with a variety of professional Canon lenses. The image quality of these cameras is simply amazing and they are silent in operation, perfect for those key moments in the church when staying unnoticed is paramount. They also have dual memory card slots for extra peace of mind. After the wedding, all your photos will be saved to a mass storage device with quadruple redundancy. I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for editing.
What if you're ill on the day?
I would firstly start by saying that I've never missed a wedding in 20 years. However, if the unspeakable did happen (I'd have to have been abducted by aliens!) I would recommend the local wedding photographers that I've worked with before. I've been called upon myself on a few occasions over the years.
Can you recommend any wedding venues?
You bet I can! Having photographed weddings at dozens and dozens of wedding venues in Surrey and the South East I have seen the amazing and varied choice available to host your wedding day, be it from the small intimate family-run venues to the grand mansion houses and country estates, there's something for everyone. I have therefore compiled a list of my favourite wedding venues in the links below.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have full public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

How do we hire you?
Please email or call me on 07766 334439 to arrange an initial meeting where I can show you further examples of my work and we can have a chat about your plans for the day.

Should you wish to hire me you can secure your wedding date by sending me a completed booking form and a deposit of £250. The deposit is non-refundable, as once I've reserved the day for your wedding I will not consider any other enquiries for that date.

Planning for your day
Having been a professional wedding photographer for 20 years I have photographed weddings at many of the venues in the South East, but there's always new ones to discover. That's why I like to arrange a venue survey with you even if I've been to your venue many times before. This gives us the perfect opportunity to walk through your plan and timings for the wedding day as well as decide on the best locations for your photos, group shots etc.

Be sure to discuss your photography plans with the venue too, so they can make sure you have enough time to cover everything you want before the wedding breakfast.

If you are getting married in a church or other religious ceremony it is always advisable to ask the person officiating the service what they will allow, as any photography is at their discretion.
